Many track day cars are also used on the road and need to provide a satisfactory
compromise for both these uses without a major change to the set-
However sporty a standard car may feel on the road it will often lack response, roll excessively and understeer on the track. Many aftermarket handling kits and suspension upgrades make the car far too stiff and uncomfortable on the road by massively increasing spring rates to make the car more responsive and roll less on the track, this often makes the car considerably too harsh and quite unsettled on public roads.
